What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
There's not a way to display an image gallery without having it attached to the bottom of an article or embedding bbcode into the middle of an article. What this does is adds unnecessary items at the top of the article page when you just want to display a list of images. For content that is very image heavy, this doesn't create a clean user experience.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Having a dedicated page gallery just for images would allow us to add it to the table of contents. Since I create a lot of images for my world, many people will just want to browse the images rather than having to go through individual pages to find them.What are other uses for this feature request?
Creating individual pages just for images so you can better manage your content.

on 2021-05-31 17:09I like the carousels for some things, but having a gallery page like this would be really nice. Many of my images are not the same dimensions so the carousels look weird. You also have to flip through ALL of them to find the one you are looking for. Considering you can already attach a gallery to a page means making a strict 'image gallery' page shouldn't be hard.

on 2021-05-21 08:14Sounds like a good addition! I usually embed carousels, but automatically listing all thumbnails side by side would be cool, too. I like SableAradia's suggestion of a BBCode as an alternative to the carousel.

I wonder, if creating a gallery page is not feasible, if it might not be possible to embed a gallery, the way you can embed a carousel? Could it be made to work by creating a [gallery:ID] function like the carousel function?
