Add Pronunciation, Meaning, Origin Fields to Name-related Sections

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

There are no fields dedicated to storing a name's pronunciation, meaning, and origin. Though language dictionary words have these fields, they are missing from articles. Names often have weird pronunciations, specific meanings, or unexpected origins.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I know that key/value pairs can be added to freeform text fields, but this feature would allow the pronunciation, meaning, and origin of a name to be stored as part of its article, instead of buried in a language dictionary or as part of a free-form text field.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Long-term, the pronunciation field could have a audio button that uses standard dictionary notiation to pronunce the pronunciation out loud!

Thank you, A Beloved Devil, for directing me to the location of the Pronunciation field. Being new to World Anvil, I was checking under all the Template Specific Prompts, and it never occurred to me to look under Advanced Tools. I suppose Name Meaning and Name Origin would be most appropriate for things where the Name is slightly separate from the thing. For example, the Person "Eric" has certain traits and such, by the name "Eric" means "Prince", which might not be like the Person "Eric" at all. People, Places, Items, and maybe Species would probably be a good staring point. Thanks, again.
Thank you, WeStanNikolai. Yeah, after learning more about Sections and key::value pairs, I put the Meaning and Origins in the Sidebar Content Panel Bottom section. Thank you, all. I have learned a lot.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We feel that adding etymology/meaning would be too niche (in the sense that most articles have transparent names without a twist) for a new box that would need to be added to all templates. There also doesn't seem to have gathered a lot of interest, so we recommend using key/value pairs or regular headers to create custom sections.

Since the field exists, just out of the way, it might help if it was instead moved somewhere more visible? I'll be honest and say I'd half forgotten there was a pronunciation field, and I probably wouldn't have found where it's hiding if it hadn't been mentioned here.

I feel like Meaning and Origin of a name are especially important if they somehow diverge from the norm, like in your Eric = Prince but Character Eric doesn't have the traits usually associated with that name. In that case, it may be enough to use key::value pairs or put that meaning in the sidebar yourself, since the meaning or origin of a name might not be that important for most things.

Pronunciation already exists, but it would be nice to have it as a headline or a sidebox as well to complement the current solution.

Yeah this already exists, and automatic pronunciation would really only work for English words with English pronunciation.

Yes, please add the pronunciation, origin, and meaning to names! Sometimes it helps authors to keep track of proper pronunciation of their character's names and helps readers.

Pronunciation fields already exist! They're available for every article (under "Open Advanced Tools and Options" on the right side, directly underneath the tags.) Once filled out, it shows up directly beside the article's title.   In terms of the origin and meaning of a name, I have a few questions. Where within the article would the information be located? Would this feature be available for every article template? If not, what would qualify an article for its presence?
