Delete User-Interface Functionality
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Most of World Anvil uses this deletion system:
Where you select the red trash bin, the buttons move and you confirm or cancel the deletion. This system has resulted in my accidentally deleting multiple article and other items. (This is mostly due to double clicking and jerky motions, perhaps others do not have this issue but it can be very frustrating).
In Maps this is how the delete system is working:
Where the confirmation is a pop up and the OK button is not right next to the wench or the eye.
My suggestion is making all of the red trashcan delete buttons work like this map delete button in order to reduce chances of accidental deletion.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
By altering the delete system (moving the confirmation button further away from the initial delete button) the hope is to reduce instances of accidental deletion as happened with me.
What are other uses for this feature request?
None that I can think of.
The Team's Response
The popups system is being replaced across the whole website and we will not go back to it because it causes issues with so devices and can also become not responsive in the case of same-page not reload calls.
The confirmation button is on purpose places not under but to the left of the original click so a double click cannot delete anything
