copy -world -ttrpg campaign tracking different

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

This is an option to copy one of your existing worlds into a new world, while keeping the original.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

This is useful for TTRPGs when running the same world for a new, different group. It allows to keep separate track of how their actions change the world while keeping the original for reference with the first group.

The Team's Response

Thank you for your suggestion. In brief, a World is too big to copy. With a variable amount of complexities, this would put too much weight on the current system and would take too much technical implementation.

I would like this as a function as I've wanted to merge multiple worlds into a single universe because it would fix a rather large mistake I made when starting here.

Wouldn't this be covered by the Parent/Child world system they intend to implement in the future? See this suggestion.

I could see this being very useful for creating a 'template' of a world layout that could be copied over, saving weeks of setup work

I like this idea, I think originally tracking changes in the world by time was the intended use of chronicles, but I like this idea especially for an "overhaul" type situation - being able to just copy the world and mess with the copy to try something new without completely changing the original would be amazing

I was thinking of doing ancient and future take on my main world and this would be very helpful. Wish I could put more than 300 coins on this one.
