What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Right now, using the campaign manager in side by side split view (chrome, 1920x1080 screen resolution, standard scaling and zoom) results in a LOT of content being squeezed together, especially on more cramped screens like the "Articles" overview. This is expected, as you're taking a lot of content and reducing the space it has. The issue comes with the sidebar that provides help and tutorial content. This sidebar takes up almost a third of the usable area, and may well be empty other than a help link that could move dynamically to below the center column if space is limited. This would permit much more space for content, and dramatically reduce waste space while keeping the help items accessible.
While the tutorial links are important, they aren't what most people will be engaging with most of the time. Their placement is good in fullscreen, but, if you get narrower, the amount of screen they take up become hard to justify. Harder still if they've been cleared out. A help link alone should not be given as much attention as the main functionality of the page, but, in this case, that is what happens.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
By moving the help bar dynamically, it frees up that real estate, letting content have more space.
What are other uses for this feature request?
More engineering attention to responsive web design would make WorldAnvil easier to use on mobile, as well as for people using lower screen resolutions or higher scale settings, improving accessibility and portability with relatively minor engineering resources used.
