Separate cover image for World TOC and in article

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I have been looking through articles and trying different things, but short of going through and relearning the CSS info I have forgotten, I can't find a way to have a global cover photo that I love seeing when pulling up the article, but not have that be present on the World TOC. It is nice that an individual article's assigned cover photo can override the global setting, but I would like to have a clean, text only world TOC but have a banner in the article. I know I can go through CSS to probably resolve the issue, but it would be nice to have non-coding functionality in the article editor.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It would add an excellent level of polish, though is a very minor issue.

What are other uses for this feature request?

I suppose this could also be useful for people who would like two different banners for their article. In the TOC it can be something more legible in a the smaller space of the TOC and then have a larger, more detailed version in the article itself.

The Team's Response

We didn't get much support on this. I will have to say that I would like to move towards simplification not overconfiguration.   I would very much like to understand what led to need this though, please feel free to reach out on #developement-discussion

It seems like a rare use case. But there is some support, apparently. I guess a checkbox to un-tick if you don't want a cover displayed, would be nice for some. Personally, I would simply upload a picture of a background colored, thin line and in the article under the design tab chose the line as the article cover. The cover container adjusts to whatever height your cover is. You just need to make it big enough that the search bar does not sit on top of your title and alas you have an article, that does not have a pretty picture at the top.
