meta styling feature font-sizing
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
At the moment there is almost no way to style the Meta page and what few ways there are directly affect the rest of the world. I discovered that when I found my Meta page had tiny text and the only way to fix it without css was to either change the font or text size of paragraphs in the world's entirety. I couldn't find other forms of styling either.
When I requested help on the discord channel I discovered it was known issue and others expressed their frustration with it. Some mentioned they avoided using the Meta page because of it. One went as far as to call Meta styling "hostile".
CSS helps somewhat, but without those skills...
How does this feature request address the current situation?
A meta specific styling page will allow users to style and organise their Meta separately from their world. Not only will it make it easier to use, it will encourage creativity and lower the barrier to less techy users. The separate styling feature is also a boon because Meta is supposed to be separate. It's the difference between a complete artwork and the personal notebook jotted down with ideas or a folder organised for advertisers.
Why should they remain so connected when their purposes are different?
I'm aware you're currently very busy, but when you've the time to spare can this function will be of great aid. Maybe it'll help if you re-use the page specific styling function? If the idea isn't viable in any way at all can we atleast match the Meta specifications to the rest of the world, especially in regards to fot size?
But IT isn't my specialty so I'll ask you to please forgive me if I missed the mark.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Directly? None that I can think of. Indirectly though, with a lowered entry barrier, ease of use and creative opportunity, I can see it helping people develop their worlds and stories. With more people using Meta pages there are more people getting hooked on eachother's worlds and stories. That can only help the community grow.
At the very least it would make me personally a lot happier with my set-up.
Follow up
I have been informed that the Meta Styling Page requires its own CSS page so I am adding that my request. Thank you for your time
The Team's Response
Hi! After some discussion, we'll add a CSS page specific to the meta (similar to how articles have their own CSS section) so you can write CSS that applies to the meta only. There's no timeline on this yet, as we currently have quite a lot on our plate, so it might be a while.
