@mentions -Manuscript

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

  The @mentions system is amazing. However, I use WA primarily for writing manuscripts where it isn't integrated.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

  It would make @mentions available while writing your books, giving readers quick access to specific information and articles as they go. linking to specific characters and places and such.

What are other uses for this feature request?

  I feel like this offers a different experience from the usual when reading. We are on electronic devices, with information at our fingertips, why not make it even more convenient to be reminded with a click, rather than exposition, exactly who/what/where something is?

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! This is not part of the vision for the feature. Manuscripts is meant for prose, not for worldbuilding, and after some discussion in the team we found no reason to add links or other BBCode features in a book that would justify the development time.
