Currently, there is no way to insert ruby text, which is smaller text above main text (see below), in WorldAnvil. Ruby text is typically in East Asian writing as phonetic guides or translations. Addition of this feature (possibly through a new BBCode tag) would allow for a sleek and compact way to format phonetic guides and/or translations for East Asian characters and facilitate multilingual writing.
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! We're accepting this under investigation. Note that, regardless of whether we go forward with this or not, World Anvil only supports UTF-8 characters, which, in the case of Japanese and Chinese, includes the most common characters, but not all of them.
