What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently historical events can have a geographic location added, but for those of us working with spacefaring or maritime settings, it would often be more useful narratively to tag the ship/spacecraft/airship etc where the event takes place, rather than where that vehical is located within the world.
I am aware that an Item field will shortly be added to the historical event template, so vehicals could be included in that, or added to the location, rather than being added as their own field, if preferred.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Previously, vehicals could be linked using the 'related article' field, but since this has been updated to only use the generic article type, it's no longer possible. Adding a sepperate vehical field, or folding this into the item field, would counteract this loss of functionality.
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! Such a change would add more connections to the database, which would make timelines and historical events as a whole slower to load. Therefore we'll have to decline this suggestion.
