Throughout his life, Matthew was intrigued by science and the inner workings of the anomalous, he studied Science in depth through his young life, always getting the very best marks - or he almost did, there was one other member of his classes that seemed to go the same route as him, she was quiet and didn't talk to anyone but was able to rival him very time, the two combined got marks which significantly raised the class's average. It was soon their graduation day, Matthew walked out of the hall, having received the very best marks possible.

He was quickly approached by a younger-looking man with glasses who clumsily bumped into him. "I am so sorry." The man profusely apologised, and Matthew continued as normal, stopping only after he found the business card in his pocket from a well-known research company. Excitedly, he called them almost immediately. He was welcomed by the smooth but nervous voice of the man who had bumped into him earlier. "You found my card, I see. I'm glad. My company has taken a direct interest in your career, particularly because of the outstanding results you have achieved. We want you to work in one of our more 'under wraps' divisions. If you wish to hear more, meet me outside your house at three tomorrow afternoon.

Matthew thought about this and made his decision; it wasn't hard, this was exactly the place he wanted to work. He went to bed and freshened up, preparing until the hour of 3 came to pass. He had one last check; he was dressed perfectly, his hair was impeccable, and he remembered everything he could need. He stepped out of the door, eager for what was to come. He strode out into the street to find nobody there. Suddenly, a van came speeding around the corner, and a cloth was placed over his mouth. He felt his consciousness drift away.

He jolted awake, a blinding light pointed directly at him, his head throbbed, and his breath wScene 1as shallow. As he came to, he was sitting on a chair across from the man he had spoken to before. "Sorry about that. Until we know you are on board, our location is highly classified." The agent continued explaining the company and its investigation of things that shouldn't exist. "Your assignment is a particularly interesting one. Recently, we had an entity voluntarily enter a room; actually, we just found it there. We had little say in the matter. We want you to figure out what it can do, and don't take any of his cards." Matthew eagerly agreed; he'd start tomorrow.
